This is an exciting opportunity for a Technical Sales Manager to join our client, who as part of a global organisation, is an established manufacturer of high performance cable markers, cable sleeving and cable marking systems. The company operates largely in the aerospace, automotive and rail industries.
Initially based at the client’s premises (although this will progressively become more customer based predominantly within England), the Technical Sales Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing and achieving new sales with existing and new customers.
The Technical Sales Manager will develop new sales opportunities by providing technical support to customers and the development of strong customer relationships.
The main accountabilities of the Technical Sales Manager are: -
1. To ensure that sales plans and targets are achieved together with a high level of customer satisfaction.
2. To identify and target new business opportunities.
3. To follow the sales cycle from introduction through to implementation.
4. To provide demonstrations, installations and servicing of equipment where appropriate.
5. To generate and proactively convert quotations and tenders to orders.
6. To ensure that technical and commercial support is provided to existing customers. This may include arranging support from others in the business.
7. To ensure that projects are effectively tracked and monitored. Where project plans may be at risk to initiate remedial action.
8. To contribute to improving all aspects of handling customer enquiries and improving the sales process.
The candidate:
• A proven track record in a technical sales role providing product / system demonstrations and technical product / system support.
• Demonstrated experience of being able to follow a sales process through to a successful conclusion is essential.
• The ability to identify new sales opportunities with new and existing customers and develop these into positive sales.
• Experience of managing customer accounts by developing and maintaining excellent customer relationships.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer orientated approach.
• The ability to learn about new products and systems.
• A knowledge of the aerospace, automotive and/or railway industries, including quality standards applicable to these industries would be an advantage.
• The ability to organise and manage your time effectively.
• Possess a full UK driving license.
