Medway Norse have an exciting opportunity to join their Countryside and Urban Rangers Department as a Park Ranger located at Capstone/ Riverside Country parks.

You will be front line officer and a first point of contact forcustomers, contractors and partnership officers in Medway’s Parks and Countryside ensuring Medway’s parks and green spaces are kept in good order, safe for use and maintaining exceptional standards.

You will assist with the day-to-day running of the park management monitoring heath& safety and environmental issues.
You will deliver events and educational programmes ,supervise volunteers, lead friends groups and carry out wildlife surveys liaising with partners to build a positive image of the service actively promoting Medway’s parks and open spaces.
You will have:

A Qualification in countryside management ,arboriculture or related land management or experience in a similar role.
NPTC/Lantra award in chainsaw maintenance cross cutting and small trees up to 380mm.
Experience of practical conservation work.
Ability to work on your own initiative and part of a wider team
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Flexible approach with the ability to prioritise and problem solve.
Due to the scope of the position there is a requirement to work variable hours, including weekends / bank holidays and in the outdoors in all weathers on a shift rota basis.
