Our client based in the Tonbridge area is looking to recruit an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to work on a flexible shift pattern basis. The main purpose of the role is to provide electrical maintenance cover to work shifts opposite to the Electrical Dept. Supervisor. The role will also involve carrying out maintenance activities and being involved in improvement projects on equipment and new plant installation projects.

Key Accountabilities:

Carry out preventative maintenance tasks, on critical plant items.
Carry out repairs to equipment as required and assist with further improvements to maximize equipment effectiveness
Speedy repair of equipment to meet production demands and improved maintenance of equipment resulting in less downtime, and the ability to prioritise tasks.
Ongoing involvement in project work, including new equipment installations and refurbishment as required
Equipment modifications and improvements to meet changing production requirements
Efficient installation of capital project items as directed
Carry out all work according to agreed safety standards and procedures.
Carry out some fixed installation testing and PAT testing as required.

Experience / Background / Education:

Apprenticeship served electrical based technician with recognised relevant qualifications.
Experience of industrial electrical equipment and installations including 3 phase equipment, and competent to IEE 17th edition wiring regulations.
Additional broad based general mechanical and engineering workshop skills and general fault finding, for mechanical breakdown repairs.
Preferably a background in maintenance operations in a manufacturing environment.
Maintenance background in a Paper Converting or printing environment would be an advantage.
Some knowledge of PLC controls and drives would be an advantage.
