About Our Client

Leading Insurance Company with an excellent client base are seeking to attract a Web Developer to join there vibrate team in Tunbridge Wells.

In this role you will design, develop, deliver and maintain enterprise calibre software to be used both internally by business users and externally by clients and customers. As part of a small flexible team of developers, analysts and testers you will be expected to deliver production quality code in regular release cycles.

This particular role would involve development of high quality ASP.NET web applications with C#, SQL and use of various JavaScript libraries.

Responsibilities
- Work as part of a small SCRUM team. Interact with team members and relevant business personnel to identify requirements and propose pragmatic solutions which add business value and analyse requirements and produce software that is fit for purpose with the minimum level of complexity to meet stated objectives.
- Making technical design decisions in line with team standards and strategy while working with team members to integrate business logic and presentation into a final product.
- Produce testable, maintainable, documented and functioning code for designated solutions and engage with test analysts to direct testing activities to ensure adequate coverage of unit, system and acceptance testing, define appropriate test cases and fixing any bugs found during testing.
- Help to drive improvements in the areas of technology and process to improve efficiency and quality within the team. This includes knowledge sharing sessions with various development teams.
- Perform the configuration and release of designated systems, ensuring that practical controls are followed to maximise quality and availability of production systems.

Qualifications
Skills and knowledge
- Strong experience of server-side development with C# is essential with knowledge and experience of using Asp.Net MVC.
- Experience delivering data driven applications using SQL Server either directly with T-SQL stored procedures or with an ORM framework such as Entity Framework or Micro-ORM is desirable.
- Practical experience of producing and consuming web-services using Web API, WCF or REST would be valuable.
- Familiarity with cross browser concerns and techniques to produce cross browser compatible web applications using W3C standards and best practice principles would be ideal.
- Exposure to Razor view engine syntax and front-end development experience including HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript with frameworks such as JQuery, Angular and React would be highly desirable.
- Understanding of object orientated design and design patterns are essential and awareness of domain driven design would also be beneficial.
- Experience using a test frameworks such as Moq is desirable.
- Exposure to Agile methodologies including SCRUM or Kanban would be of value.
- Knowledge or experience of mobile site development and responsive layouts possibly including frameworks such as Twitter Bootstrap would also be of beneficial.
- Experience configuring websites in IIS and services on Windows is desirable.
- Familiarity with TFS as a source control and agile project management tool would be ideal.
- Knowledge of cloud hosting such as Azure or AWS experience would be of value.
- Knowledge of build automation tools such as Team Citya and OctoDeploy would be of value

Job Description

Working within an application development and maintenance focused area, the technical integration lead will be accountable for maintaining, safeguarding and driving forward the value of a business critical application within the overall technology strategy.

This is a role that focuses on Mule ESB, covering a range of large-scale integration projects within a major UK insurer.

Your duties as an integration technical lead will include but not be limited to the following:
-- Manage and maintain overall technical solutions integrity of the application
-- Develop and promote deep technical expertise, insights and thought leadership related to the application
-- Coordinate, guide and support the planning and delivery of changes to the application
-- Develop and implement an assurance approach which provides confidence to stakeholders and ensures that the value of changes will be achieved

The Successful Applicant

As a technical integration lead you will already have experience delivering multiple integration/ESB projects within a technical lead capacity using an agile approach, within a development environment setup. You MUST have solid experience across large-scale projects, with Mule ESB, or at least similar toolsets, and ideally have comprehensive experience with Java.

You will have integration architecture experience as well as being accustomed to working with third party suppliers.

- Ideally, experience of Mule ESB; alternatively, significant experience of one or more of the following: Tibco BusinessWorks, IBM IB/WPS/BPM, webMethods ESB, Oracle Fusion Middleware SOA/BPM, JBoss ESB, Talend ESB
- Practical experience with SOAP web services and working with XML from Java: WSDL, XSD, SOAP envelope/body, JAX-WS and CXF or Metro, WSDL-first and Java-first web service development, XSLT, XPath
- Good working knowledge of web development in Java: JSP, servlets, Spring MVC or Struts
- Practical experience with message-oriented middleware and JMS: ActiveMQ, IBM MQ or similar; working with JMS from Java
- Experience of integration gateways such as IBM Datapower is a plus
- Experience of managed file transfer (MFT) products such as Globalscape or IBM Cast Iron is a plus

Job Description

- Manage a caseload of EL and PL claims from notification stage through to final settlement.
- Provide technical and coaching support to other members of the team.

The Successful Applicant

- Minimum of 5 years` experience in dealing with all aspects of EL and PL claims
- A proven track record of settling higher value injury claims up to or exceeding £100K
- Exceptional ability to gather and process information and make effective assessments on more complex cases
- Experienced in sending detailed instructions to expert witnesses and solicitors
- Able to coach and develop less experienced members of the team
- A calm and professional attitude at all times.

Desirable Skills

- Knowledge of disease claims is an advantage, but not essential.
- Experience in the handling of commercial property claims is also an asset, but not a requirement.
- EL and PL experience gained in an Insurer or Loss Adjuster environment is preferred
- Progression with CII or CILA studies.

The Successful Applicant
As a Principal Pricing Analyst you will be somebody with at least 2-3 general insurance pricing experience, who possesses first class communication, and stakeholder management skills. Ideally you will have experience with telematics, and or/motor pricing.

You will be educated to degree level within a relevant mathematically focused subject, and ideally possess hands on experience with SAS, EMBlem, or similar optimisation software.

With this being a principal level role you will be an effective team player, who is also able to take the lead, and develop others, deputising for the pricing manager in their absence.
