* Capturing and analyzing customer requirements.

* Designing control algorithms and strategies (using Matlab\Simulink) for autocode generation of production intent code.

* Designing system diagnostics and CAN communication specifications.

* Developing validation tests for electrical bench, dSpace HiL and vehicle.

* Calibrating sensor interfaces and diagnostic strategies.

* Calibrating servo controls and regulators.

* Supporting customer's engine and vehicle testing.

* Supporting system and hardware FMEA.

* Provide expertise for investigations and problem solving activities.



Skills and attributes required:



* Educated to degree level

* Demonstrable industry related experience of developing real time embedded control systems.

* Solid experience of defining and developing control strategies in Matlab\Simulink.

Preferred:

* Experience of working for a Tier 1 supplier in the automotive industry.

* Experience of a production intent auto-coding environment.

* Calibration Tools (eg. INCA, ATI Vision)

* CAN Tools (eg. CANAlyzer)

* Clearcase (or similar configuration management tool)

The Role;



To ensure the quality of deliveries (Software and Hardware integration) to customers by:

Supporting Project team with independent reviews - Software Release Note (SRN), Validation review.
*

Attending and sharing Quality status to Product Development Plan (PDP) reviews.

Participate in any external or internal audits, any customers meetings for topics related to SW quality, development or any risk management (may liaise with Customer AQE FIE CR system).
*

Plan internal audit (named Health check) to ensure both ISOTS16949, ASPICE (and ISO26262) are applied by project teams and track action plan to closure
*

Support problem solving to ensure systemic root cause is addressed and ensure Lesson Learned is deployed, by applying tools.
*

Facilitate process description, performance with definition of roles and interfaces across sites.
*

Monitor and report the processes performance like quality status and MOP's reviewed at management level on a monthly basis.
*

Coach electronics team to process applied, quality assurance and quality tools usage such as FMEA, problem solving, audits.





The Person;



*

Educated to degree level in Engineering.
*

Prior experience in Quality Assurance, ideally in Automotive embedded Software.
*

Skills in tools and process for Assurance Quality (FMEA, audits, problem solving.etc)
*

Standards skills: ISOTS16949, ASPICE (CMMI).
*

Strong ability to organize, communicate and work as part of a team.
*

Fluency in English (German speaker would be a plus).

The successful candidate should have at least two to three years post degree experience in the design of hardware electronic product design preferably in the measurement and processing of low level analogue signals. Ideally skills in both analogue and digital electronics design are required though a bias towards pure analogue will be considered.

* Demonstrate experience in design for manufacture and design for test

* Skilled in use of CAD/CAE capture systems

* Have embedded mixed-signal microcontroller sub-systems e.g. interfacing analogue circuits with microprocessors, bus-controlled devices, I2C, SPI, USD, Bluetooth (Arm Cortex M4 and M7)

* Knowledge of design and optimum circuit layout for EMC compatibility

* Be commercially aware with demonstrable experience in efficient circuit designs to meet cost constraints

* Possess experience of test and measurement design using DSP techniques

* Have practical fault-finding and diagnostic skills; experience in initial debug "bring up" and performance evaluation

* An understanding of the terms creepage and clearance and implications for design

* Be a strong team player used to working to deadlines

* Demonstrable ability to deliver project design work on time to specification and in measuring progress en-route

* Good communications and team working skills essential

* Be honours degree qualified, (good academic standard strong mathematical content), 1st or 2nd class degree, Electronic Engineering or similar
