Residential Workers £18,000 to £20,000
Senior Residential Worker £20,000 to £22,000

Salaries shown, are for full time posts involving a shift pattern rota, including weekends and a sleeping in allowance. Part time positions are available.

Previous experience or transferable skills are desirable but opportunities exist for candidates with a desire to develop their own skills and understanding of working with young people and a willingness to undergo further training at our own dedicated training centre.

This company was established in 1995 and is now the vehicle rental industry’s leading provider of management software in the UK. Their principle product is now established in over 750 locations and manages in excess of 80,000 vehicles. Their product is a desktop application currently written in Delphi. In 2015 the directors decided to radically expand the reach of its product, both in terms of target industries and international opportunities.

The decision was taken to construct the product as an online web application and build links (through API’s) to partners who wish to take advantage of such a large and diverse network of resources and services. Over the next five years the company expects to manage in excess of 1 Million resources (not just vehicles) and as such, the scalability and resilience of the product offer is paramount. To achieve this aim, an entire micro-services ecosystem is being created from the ground up. Whilst the strategy is to port the existing feature set that has evolved over the last 20 years, the project is being developed as many “Green Field” projects and micro-services.


The project is being developed in Java and will use several technologies and techniques. Some of the technologies are Micro-Services, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Spring Boot, Activiti (BPMN), MongoDB, MYSQL, Apche Ignite (Data Grid), Lucene, Rest , JSON, Angular 4, etc

Purpose of Role:

* Work in partnership with the Young Carers team, education, health, youth services, voluntary sector, early help, social care providers to ensure they comply with young carer related legislation, and are able to identify, assess and support young carers within their own setting

* Keep up to date with issues affecting Young Carers [both nationally and locally]

Reporting into the Works Engineer, the incoming candidate will be expected to undertake all reactive and planned electrical and mechanical maintenance for the plant. The post holder will undertake all fault finding and root cause analysis, co-ordinate and improve tooling change-overs, and complete all daily, weekly, and monthly condition based maintenance activities.

Applicants should possess a strong, proven background in working within a fast-paced, continuous manufacturing environment. Demonstrable experience of undertaking multi-skilled maintenance is needed; as such, applicants will ideally have the necessary 17th edition qualifications and be comfortable working within an automated environment. An exposure to PLCs and Fanuc Robotics would be highly desirable.

Candidates will be expected to work a set shift pattern which includes a series of days and nights (12 hour shifts), to include weekends and bank holidays. It is advisable that candidates have their own access to transport owing the location of the business.
