This role will be the lead developer in Claims IT, responsible for writing complex code in addition to developing the technical skills of existing team members.

You will need to be a highly qualified and experienced JAVA developer with previous experience leading a team of developers working on Enterprise grade software solutions.
Previous experience working with insurance claims management solutions is highly desirable.

This role is responsible for supporting the Business as Usual operations functions delivered in customer-centric methodologies. Working as part of a team to deliver Data Centre and Managed Service with the key focuses on Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability.

Some Key responsibilities will include:

• Installation and setting up of IT and Network Hardware
• Maintaining and repairing technological equipment and peripherals
• Installing and upgrading of hardware components
• Working with Data Centre and Enterprise level hardware to provide client support
• Delivering remote hands support
• Provide customer escort services to clients attending the Data Centres ensuring their requirements are met and that their safety is ensured
• Installation of Copper and Fibre structured cabling
• Liaising and Communicating with clients providing service updates
• Goods handling – Ensuring items leaving and arriving at the Data Centres are in the correct locations and secured
• Routine site Health and Safety and Data Centre checks
• Maintaining backup media rotations and monitoring of backups
• Ticket and task handling
• Escalating incidents/requests to Service Desk Manager
• Provide feedback to IT Service Desk & Incident / Task Manager in identifying amendment / creation of Service Desk processes & procedures to deliver an effective Service Desk function
• Ensuring Data Centre and working areas standards are maintained

The Group Customer Database team work as part of Saga Group IT. Our core responsibility is with managing the Single Customer View (SCV), which is central to a number of key areas across the business including CRM, Campaign Management and My Saga.

We work with stakeholders from across the business units to include, by not limited to, Insurance, Travel, Financial Services and Publishing as well as related third parties and internal departments. The GMD receive all customer transactions, transposing these into a SCV by ensuring data quality, customer survivorship and customer cleansing. This data is then republished for use by the business.

This role requires the jobholder to have a basic IT foundation supported by the ability to demonstrate that they can independently manage their allocated workload. The jobholder will work on the new Adobe application as well as monitoring the interfaces. This role requires a proactive person who is adaptable and able to effectively communicate their ideas and recommendations to other team members and/or project stakeholders.

The candidate will work closely with development teams, support all areas of the business from a ticketing system and be required to adhere to a strict change management process.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for the maintenance and high availability of the datacentres, network infrastructure, servers and services
· Ensure integrity and security of data in accordance with best practices and business requirements for regulatory, security and privacy compliance
· Ensure uptime of all services is more than 99.999%

ROLE:
· Ensuring that redundancy is achieved at all levels of hardware and software in order to achieve a service SLA in excess of 99.999%
· Proactively monitor logs and metrics to ensure uptime, highlight performance improvements and future capacity planning
· Maintain servers and services through software updates, security patching and service pack installation
· Manage backups and regularly test restoration
· Assist with technology planning

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Required
· Expert level knowledge of Windows server 2012R2 and above
· High level of experience in managing Windows server environments and Azure cloud environments
· Networking and network security
· Strong working knowledge of Active Directory
· In-depth knowledge of LAN, WAN and VPN support and design
· In-depth knowledge of Firewalls and UTM

Desirable
It would be nice to find someone that had used Hyper-V and or System Center VMM experience in general but specifically after someone with real world experience using the products.

Scripting experience - Powershell, JavaScript or Python
Microsoft certification, MCP, MCSE, MCSA, MCSD
