A Controls & Automation Engineer is required to join an employer of choice in mid-Kent, in what is a non-shifted role.

Working within a small team of dedicated Controls/Automation Engineers, the incoming candidate will be expected to undertake the troubleshooting, design, installation and commissioning of controls solutions for the manufacturing plant.

Chief responsibilities will include:

* Modification, improvement and expansion of existing Rockwell software; RSlogix5000, RSLogix500, FactoryTalk View Studio, RSView 32 works. RSNetworx Devicenet.
* Responsible for phased replacement of legacy Allen Bradley PLCs.
* Modification, improvement and expansion of existing safety systems & control systems; SCADA (Factory Talk studio & RSworks32), HMIs (Factory talk studio), PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, SLC500) Device level networks (DeviceNet, Ethernet) and control level networks (Ethernet, DH+).
* Design, implementation and commissioning of new Safety systems. Providing documentation ensuring compliance to Machinery safety legislation.
* Responsible for site Robots (Fanuc). Creation of new and modification of existing programs via Teach pendant. Increase productivity by robot improvements. Provide breakdown support and maintenance planning.
* Provide in house PLC & Robot training for plant staff.

Applicants will be expected to be a time-served apprentices in an Electrical or Electronics discipline, and possess experience of working with Rockwell PLCs/HMIs/SCADA (although experience of other manufacturers shall be considered).

A working knowledge of control levels and device level networks is required, as well as exposure to robotics.
