Business Intelligence Analyst

An opportunity has arisen for a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Business Information Systems Department.



The key purpose of this role is to identify business intelligence, reporting, data analysis and integration needs and deliver effective solutions. The BI Analyst works closely with the business and IT teams to turn data into actionable information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions.



Main responsibilities



* Provide data and information that is accurate, congruent and reliable
* Ensure the information is easily available to users for direct consumption or integration with other systems
* Educate and train SEW management information specialists to use the data as an analytical tool, displaying the information in new forms and content for the purpose of analysis and option exploration
* Work with IT and business colleagues to determine business requirements and define key performance indicators (KPI)
* Develop SEW's BI and data warehouse strategy. This includes working with business and development teams to design and document dashboards, alerts, and reports.
* Conduct analyses of functional business processes and functional business requirements and participate in the development of business cases in the support of process changes and/or IT projects
* Support the daily interaction of SEW's Central Market Integration (CMI) platform with MOSL's Central Market Operating System (CMOS)
* Provide 2nd/3rd line support for the IT Service Desk and manage further support with suppliers to resolve system issues
* Test and implement new software modules in accordance with Business Systems policies and procedures
* Analyse the impact of change and coordinate change control activity
* Ensure that users are trained in the proper use of reporting tools



The successful candidate will hold a degree and/or equivalent training, knowledge and skills gained through at least 8 years' experience in IT. It is essential they have solid SAP Business Objects (including Webi and Universe development) and Data Services experience (including detailed data service coding) and a good understanding of Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database technologies.



The post holder must build an in-depth understanding of the business and strive to go beyond the obvious, delving into the source, the definition and the foundational roots of a data element in order to create information and understand how that information enables business processes. Equally comfortable working independently or as part of a team, the candidate must have good written and verbal communication skills and be able to own a problem and see it through to a successful resolution.
