Role summary

This role is ideal for someone with strong organisational skills, who is experienced in social care and supervising others. You will be responsible for coordinating our support service for foster families and children, including the recruitment, management and supervision of support service workers.

You will be working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure that appropriate training is identified and completed, and will be responsible for monitoring and reviewing the support service and reporting on areas for improvement.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Coordinate, monitor and report on Credo Care’s support service for carers and children.
• Carry out monthly supervisions of support service workers.
• Carry out appraisals, PDPs and process training requests for support service workers.
• Coordinate the recruitment and selection of Support Service Workers, Placement Support Workers and Contact Supervisors.
• Plan, coordinate and sign off support service worker inductions, identify training required for the role and hold TSD workshops.
• Review and monitor support work reports and time sheets, working closely with finance colleagues, carrying out quality assurance, proof reading and managing the information using the portal.
• Review, collate and implement support services requests, including the recording of all details.
• Coordinate, record and monitor contact arrangements.
• Work with the social work team to meet the support needs of children in placement.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues responsible for referrals, placements and training to ensure that support service workers are trained and matched appropriately for all new placements, including medical sign off and recording.
• Develop and implement a mini Form F style process, adopting the short break assessment style, including an audit of current resources, in conjunction with the Practice Manager/Registered Manager.
• Create and maintain support worker profiles in collaboration with colleagues.
• Introduce and coordinate the running of bi-annual support service meetings.
• Collaborate with other Support Service Officers to share best practice and provide ad-hoc cover.
• Take part in the emergency ‘out of hours’ duty service.


General duties and responsibilities

• Maintain appropriate and accurate records, documents and filing systems.
• Maintain a professional image and standard of presentation.
• Attend and participate in meetings and training as required.
• Work in accordance with Credo Care’s policies, procedures and ethos.
• Work under the guidance of regulatory framework including the National Minimum Standards.
• Undertake any other duties at the request of your line manager, senior managers or directors, dependent upon the post holder’s area of expertise, knowledge and skills, and with regard to the level of responsibility afforded by the post held.


Salary scale £22,000 to £27,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
Car allowance £300 pcm.
Full time – 37.5 hours per week.

Work base Head Office – Lydd, Kent. Some travel, including to our Midlands office, may be required.
