Part time - 5 hours per week (11.00am-4.00pm)

Demelza Hospice Care for Children is a charity providing hospice services for children and young people with life-limiting conditions and support for their families across Kent, East Sussex and South East London.
We are looking for a Retail Shop Assistant to run our Tenterden shop’s Sunday and Bank Holiday trading operation and to help maximise the potential revenue from shoppers.
In conjunction with the shop manager, you will co-ordinate a volunteer rota to ensure there is sufficient shop cover each Sunday.
You will have the ability to maintain availability of stock on the shop floor, to receive and sort donations and to ensure the shop is ready to trade on Monday morning. You will have experience of working with a varying agenda and workload and be able to prioritise tasks.
You must be able to act as key holder for the day and have a good awareness of Health and Safety. You will be responsible for opening and closing the shop, as well as cashing up. You will also have responsibility for managing the shop and all shop volunteers.
Good communication and customer service skills are essential.
