Eurotunnel manages, maintains and operates the Channel Tunnel from Folkestone to Coquelles in France. The service provided is unrivalled in terms of speed, ease, and reliability, and is the most environmentally friendly way to cross the Channel.

The tunnel infrastructure enables our shuttle trains to carry passenger and commercial freight vehicles and also allows the running of 3rd party passenger and freight trains. In an all time record breaking 2016, Eurotunnel shuttle trains carried over 1.6 million trucks, and 2.6 million passenger vehicles and facilitated the transportation of just over 1m tonnes of freight and some 10m Eurostar passengers.

The value of trade passing between the UK and continental Europe through the Tunnel is in excess of £91bn, equivalent to 25% of all trade in and out of the UK.

We are now seeking experienced and highly motivated Technicians to join our Works Train department. Working at our terminal in Folkestone you will be part of a team of workshop technicians employed to fault diagnose and correct electrical based problems on all types of works train equipment including rubber tyred vehicles, on track plant and locomotives.

Works Train Technicians work either a day or shift roster dependent upon their expertise. Day working positions require occasional shift work, whereas shift working positions require 24/7 cover. All positions participate in an on call rota.

You will ideally hold an electrical qualification to HND/HNC or equivalent. Previous experience of working in an electrical environment is essential. A lower qualification to BTEC Level 3 or equivalent may be considered with a minimum of 5 years work experience. Experience of domestic or industrial electrical maintenance is an advantage.
