A well established law firm in Kent and Sussex currently have a position available for a Legal Cashier/Legal Accounts Assistant to join their Accounts team at their Tunbridge Wells office. You will be working in a modern open plan environment in the centre of the town with excellent working conditions and will be supported by a friendly team. You will have a minimum of 2 years experience in a legal accounts role.
Main Objectives of the Role:
• To assist in the smooth running of the practice by attending to the various financial transactions arising from the work of the firm and its internal operation. Working in a team but with the ability to work on your own, and to tight deadlines.
Key Tasks
• Monitoring online bank accounts and statements for client and office
• Posting and sending CHAPs, BACs payment as required (suppliers, disbursements etc.)
• Collating cheques, posting office and client banking
• Printing and posting of daily client and office cheque requests
• Posting and printing bills
• Posting payments/interest/bank charges
• Daily cash collection report and collecting cash/cost transfers
• Taking credit card payments over the phone when required from clients
• Disbursement Control (Land Registry and PIE). Collating statements, postings and BACs
• File closures/re-opening
• Ad-hoc write-offs as required (bills and disbursements)
• Transferring time on request
• Posting ad-hoc client to client transfers
• Ad-hoc queries and reporting as required relating to client account, balances and credit control
• Adhoc management accounts work, as required.
• Adhoc purchase ledger-monitoring, entering invoices, credit notes and payments (via internet banking) plus reconciling supplier statements and dealing with supplier queries etc.
