Due to continued growth and success, our client, a local established engineering company who pride themselves a on quality & reliability are looking for a qualified and passionate Facilities & SHE professional to ensure that their site is maintained, serviced and secure and that all functions operate in a safe and environmentally focused manner.



Reporting to the Operations Director you will:

*

Ensure that the fabric of the building and surrounding areas of responsibility is maintained and that all site services remain constant.
*

Manage the selection and onsite supervision of external contractors, ensuring all appropriate risk assessments and Safe Methods of Working have been received, reviewed and accepted.
*

Operate as the Site Health & Safety representative for all related activities. Chair the Health & Safety Committee Meeting and engender a culture of safe working. Manage all Health & Safety related projects and report any accidents / incidents
*

Ensure all plant is subject to regular preventive maintenance/servicing programs.
*

Operate as the business Security Controller, managing the List X requirements, security vetting and the physical Site Security (Opening/Closing/CCTV etc) process.
*

Ensure all company owned vehicles are properly maintained and serviced.
*

Make recommendations to Senior Management team with regards to initiatives resulting in a safer, healthier, more cost effective working environment including cost benefit justifications
*

Ensure company waste and waste disposal processes confirm to the current Environmental Legislation.
*

Carry out New Starter Inductions with regards to Health & Safety, Fire Exit locations, Comfort facilities etc.



Requirements:



*

IOSH qualified
*

Health & Safety for Managers Qualified Trainer
*

First Aid trained
*

Knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation
*

Knowledge of current Environmental legislation
*

Experience of operating in an engineering / manufacturing environment.
*

Ability to react swiftly as situations change and/or develop.
*

Ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally to the business
*

Must be comfortable with working in the defence and security sectors and have security vetting experience
