Civil Engineering Technician

Competitive salary and benefits package

Folkestone, Kent

Eurotunnel

Eurotunnel manages, maintains and operates the Channel Tunnel from Folkestone to Coquelles in France. The service provided is unrivalled in terms of speed, ease, and reliability, and is the most environmentally friendly way to cross the Channel.

The tunnel infrastructure enables our shuttle trains to carry passenger and commercial freight vehicles and also allows the running of 3rd party passenger and freight trains. In an all time record breaking 2016, Eurotunnel shuttle trains carried over 1.6 million trucks, and 2.6 million passenger vehicles and facilitated the transportation of just over 1m tonnes of freight and some 10m Eurostar passengers. The value of trade passing between the UK and continental Europe through the Tunnel is in excess of £91bn, equivalent to 25% of all trade in and out of the UK.

Eurotunnel is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Technician to join its Civil Engineering department. Working at our terminal in Folkestone you will be part of a team of technicians employed in maintaining the operational availability of Tunnel and Terminal Infrastructure. Much of the maintenance is undertaken at night and weekends so you must be prepared to work unsocial hours and also participate in an on call rota.

You must have a Civil Engineering qualification, ideally to HND/HNC or equivalent with 2 years work experience in a technical environment. A lower qualification may be considered with a minimum of 5 years work experience.
This position will interest you if you are looking to work in a unique environment, where you can fully utilise your technical skills and where no two days are the same.

In return for your contribution you will receive an attractive benefits package, including:
 Premiums for unsocial hours, on call and overtime
 Private Healthcare
 Contributory Pension Scheme
 Life Assurance
 Concessionary Travel
 Company Share Incentive Plan
 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays
