Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, you will be accountable for the OTIF delivery of parts and products. Using good communication skills and effective negotiation on price, timescale and quality, the successful individual will make the best possible purchasing decisions for the company and build relationships with suppliers.

The Role:

• Accountable for managing the quality, OTIF delivery and price for all orders placed
• Responsible for reducing the overall current spend across all items purchased for the company
• Responsible for negotiating prices, multiple item reductions, discount levels and fixed term contracts to gain savings for the business
• Managing the day to day purchasing requirement as well as task based management of additional administrative support to ensure the best possible lead times
• Positive communications with current and new supplier base to build up a good relationship
• Pricing and lead time dispute management and resolution
• Accessing the company stock requirement using BOM's and forecasting software, ensuring orders are placed in a very efficient manner
• Undertaking supplier comparisons across terms and costs
• Working closely with other departments to source new suppliers and ensure the current ones have capacity.

Skills and Experience
We are looking for a candidate with previous experience of working in a purchasing / warehouse environment, preferably within a small purchasing / warehouse team. This role should be seen as an excellent development opportunity as you will be working closely with the company leadership team.
• Previous experience in a relevant field, ideally in sourcing / procurement of parts and finished products.
• A good working knowledge and experience of Lakeview or an equivalent package is essential.
• Able to handle objections and be able to demonstrate effective negotiation
• Ability to work diligently and accurately as there is a large amount of data analysis and inputting required involving reviewing stock-lists and identifying trends
• MRP experience desirable
• Strong IT skills, including MS Office and Excel with database skills/usage an advantage
• Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to build relationships quickly
• Enjoys working as part of a team in a fast paced, exciting environment
• Excellent verbal and communication skills
• Experience in managing a small team would be an advantage.
