Manroy Engineering provides solutions for weapon design, production and mounting requirements for Infantry, AFV, and Naval platforms.

Manroy was originally formed in 1975 to support the spares requirements of the British Army, and has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of Belgium-based small arms manufacturer FN Herstal, S.A. since July 2014.
A role as CFO for the UK subsidiary (Manroy Engineering) of the Herstal Group has arisen. The role will report into the CEO of the UK Group with a dotted reporting line into the Herstal Group CFO, the role will be based at Manroy’s Slade Green facility near Erith in Kent.

Under the brands FN Herstal, Browning and Winchester Firearms, the Herstal Group designs, manufactures and distributes a full range of firearms and associated products for defense, law enforcement, hunting, and shooting. The Herstal Group has its headquarters in Herstal, a suburb of Liege, Belgium, and offices in several other European countries, North America and Asia.

The role is applicable to a fully qualified accountant with at least three years' post qualified experience at a senior management level. Ideally with a solid understanding of how financial performance is measured in a manufacturing and production business. You will be "hands on" and have experience of systems, process and procedure implementation. Along with being detail orientated and technically strong, you will need to contribute both strategically, commercially and operationally as a key member of the leadership team.

In addition, experience of working within a multi-national Group will be an important factor in our decision making process for the role and evidence of this will be important to the successful candidate.

As a member of the Senior Management Team you will direct and oversee all aspects of the company's financial activities (including IT) and play a major part in the next phase of the company's growth plans. Key responsibilities will include preparing weekly KPIs, monthly and annual accounts and other reporting as required, financial planning and related on-going advice for the board of directors and formulating financial targets and budgets in accordance with the strategy determined by the board

Planning

• Assist the CEO in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives.
• Assist the CEO in creating and thereafter monitoring and directing the implementation of strategic business plans.
• Control, preparation and delivery of timely monthly management information covering profitability performance and future forecasts.
• Development of financial and tax strategies, including transfer pricing.
• Managing capital expenditure requirements and budgeting processes.
• Developing performance measures that support the company's strategic direction.
• Providing additional forecasts and presentations to Group as required.
Financial Information

• Oversee the issuance of financial information, including reporting of annual report and accounts. All under IFRS.
• Prepare, review and approve all tax compliance requirements.
• Report financial results to the Board of directors on a monthly basis.




Operations

• Use skill, experience and technical knowledge to aid key decisions as a member of the executive management team.
• Leading less experienced members of the management team and provide mentoring and coaching support where required.
• Manage the accounting, legal, tax, and treasury functions.
• Implement operational best practices, including those pertaining to Corporate Governance.
• Oversee employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis of maintaining a cost effective benefits packages.
• Oversee and understand financial compliance of intercompany Group trading directives
• Management of the annual audit functions of all UK Group companies.
Risk Management

• Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile
• Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry. Including Bribery and anti-corruption policies.
• Construct and monitor reliable control systems.
• Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
• Identification and reporting of risk issues to the board of directors
• Maintain relations with external auditors with a view to review and implement changes from their findings and recommendations
• Liaise and work with Group legal to manage all insurance, legal and regulatory matters
Funding

• Control cash balances and cash forecasts and ensure the company is well financed in line with its operational and financial forecasts
• Management of bank facilities.
• Oversight of export finance contracts using letters of credit
• Managing foreign currency in liaison with Group treasury functions.

IT
• With the support of the Group IT team, oversee and manage the UK IT support and infrastructure requirements.
• With support from Group develop, improve and support the UK ERP Development program.
Personnel Management
• Supervise and manage the overall performance of staff in the Finance and IT functions
• Responsible for employee selection, career development, succession planning and periodic training for all staff in Finance and IT functions.
• Managing and recommending salary compensation and rewards for Finance and IT staff.
• Providing regular support to the team and mitigate potential staff concerns, including support in periodic periods of increased pressure and demand within the departments.
