Buyers Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced administrator who has a keen interest to progress in to a Retail Assistant Buyer role.

This is a full-time role working 4 days during the week 9am - 5:30pm and alternate weekends, Saturdays 9am - 5:30pm and Sundays 10am - 4:30pm. The hourly rate is £10.25.


Role Responsibilities
Produce range sheets and purchase orders correctly and in a timely manner
. Liaise with suppliers for all necessary information
. Ensure that all orders are correct with current prices and barcodes and uploaded to the epos system prior to delivery
. Provide copies of all authorised orders to the shop floor
. Check all product confirmations and update range sheets and orders as necessary
. Ensure any product updates, including promotions are processed in the system in a timely manner and correct signage is produced as necessary
. Advise shop floor of any price changes and ensure that they are implemented and signage amended/prices changed as required in conjunction with a relevant category team member
. Check stock levels of core ranges and raise replenishment orders as required
. Help to identify popular and slow-selling items.
. Review product ranges in conjunction with the buyer and supplier, seasonally as required to ensure the most up-to-date ranges and bestsellers are always included.
. Support warehouse team with delivery/barcode issues.
. Support shop floor team with handling customer queries and issues that are raised.
. Ensure a high level of customer service is met at all times and that any queries are dealt with or passed on to the relevant person in a timely manner.
. Ensure any issues are raised with the line manager as necessary and update relevant system information.
. Ensure all relevant department information is accurate and up to date at all times
. Responsible for requests for credits in conjunction with the department team leader.
. Maintain excellent communication with marketing to ensure product launches are available on social and Point of Sale signs are accurate on the shop floor at all times.

Required qualifications & experience

GCSE Maths & English to C or equivalent.
A high level of computer literacy.
Competent user of Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook.
A high level of verbal and written communication skills is essential.
An excellent telephone manner and professional email correspondence is required.
An ability to effectively communicate with team members at all levels including senior management is essential.
Preferred qualifications & experience
Experience within retail industry.
Knowledge of the buying process within a retail environment.
