SECURITY VACANCIES – Full time

1 x Security Sergeant – Junior King’s

Based in the stunning setting of the Precincts of Canterbury Cathedral and St Augustine’s Abbey – a World Heritage Site, The King’s School is one of the oldest and most prestigious Schools in the country with an enviable record of academic excellence and achievement. The Junior King’s School is a co-education Day and Boarding School for pupils between the ages of 3-13, offering superb educational, boarding, (with current boarders from 9 years+) extra-curricular and sporting facilities.

The King’s School and Junior King’s requires flexible people to undertake a wide range of security and access control duties at our St. Augustine’s site, Junior King’s site and across the School Estate. The position involves a high degree of interface with academic and support staff, parents, pupils and members of the general public so excellent communication, interpersonal skills and presentation are a pre-requisite.

The hours for each role are:
Security Porter (x1) – King’s School - The successful candidate will be required to work on a 4 on 4 off day/night rota over 7 days, (4 shifts of 12 hours each) all year round. An average of 42.46 hours per week.
Security Officer (x1) – Junior King’s – The successful candidate will be required to work an average of 40 hours per week, based on a two week rota, this includes weekend hours.

Whilst previous security experience would be desirable and the incumbent hold a current SIA level two licence, it is not essential. However, you must be willing to attend training to achieve this qualification.

In addition, a full UK driving licence is required for the role.
