Kent Law School is expanding its academic team and will make several new appointments this academic year. This advert addresses the specialism of  land/property law. We are seeking a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer with a passion to enthuse and invigorate research-led teaching of property law.  Kent Law School will provide comprehensive support to enable the successful applicant to continue to flourish in their research in land/property and related areas.  Our sector-leading support for research activity includes a significant proportion of working time for research activity, specialist mentorship in making funding applications, regular study leave and teaching buy-out policies. Our research environment is renowned as a home for critical legal studies. We especially encourage applications from scholars with strong research trajectories in respect of property or environment, land and ownership (broadly conceived) who take postcolonial, feminist, climate-change, anti-poverty or other critical perspectives. 

The post holder be expected to make a high-quality, research-led and innovative input to the teaching of land and property law, to support our attainment of excellence in student experience, to supervise masters’ and doctoral students, to act as an academic advisor to undergraduates and to engage in our vibrant research environment. The post holder will make a significant contribution to our educational and research culture; which values diversity and equality, advances critical and innovative legal education, and facilitates research excellence. We particularly welcome interest from black and ethnic minority applicants as they are under-represented in Kent Law School at present. 

About you 

Senior Lecturer: You will be looking to contribute strongly to the research environment of an internationally renowned law school that will support you to advance and enhance your already strong research trajectory. You will have considerable experience of teaching land or property law and will relish the opportunity to make a major contribution to the leadership of teaching in this major area of the undergraduate curriculum as well as to enhance our delivery of postgraduate education and PhD programme.  

Lecturer: You will be looking for a high quality academic environment in which you can achieve continuous excellence in research and build on your growing body of high-quality research publications. You will have demonstrable experience of teaching land or property law and a passion to specialise in research-led teaching in this major area of the undergraduate curriculum.
