Mental Health Support & Resettlement Worker
£10,139 - £11,448.50 ( £20,278 - £22,897 full time equivalent) gross per annum
Dover, Kent
Porchlight
Because like you, we’re dedicated to changing attitudes and changing lives.
About us: We are passionate about helping vulnerable people to reach their full potential. We strive for a fairer society where vulnerable people find stability, the most excluded are included, and where homelessness and poverty are things of the past.
The role: There is a strong link between homelessness and mental health. If you’re struggling with your mental health, it can become more difficult to maintain a tenancy – and push you closer to homelessness.
You will provide mental health support people who:
live in their own home but are struggling to cope
have experienced homelessness and now live in supported accommodation (such as Porchlight’s hostels).
In both cases, you will help them deal with mental health issues that might otherwise affect their ability to maintain a tenancy and live independently.
This role requires the ability to:
Build constructive relationships
Motivate and engage people
Implement strategies which help people cope with (sometimes challenging) mental health issues
Balance the needs of multiple clients
Benefits: As a Porchlight employee, you will have access to a wide range of benefits including free life insurance, 25 days holiday per year (increasing to 30 days after five years’ service) and the Porchlight pension scheme.
