Leakage Detection Apprentice

Up to £11000.00 per annum

Kent

South East Water HR Department

Leakage detection and resolution is important to our customers, regulators and to us. Each year we have to ensure that we meet a leakage target set by our regulator (OFWAT) and you will be working with the team that is responsible for ensuring this is achieved. The team consists of individuals both directly employed and contracted involved in delivering Leakage Detection, Network equipment maintenance and other network support functions.

Apprenticeships are an excellent way of gaining qualifications and workplace experience, and for the right applicants we hope the programme will be a solid foundation for a rewarding career within the Company. As an employee, you can earn as you learn and we will ensure that through the apprenticeship level 3 programme you will gain a solid grounding in all aspects of operations life.

We are currently seeking to recruit two apprentices to work within our Leakage Detection team based in the Eastern Region covering Kent. Click here to look at our supply area.

Main responsibilities:
To undertake and complete a two-year apprenticeship working within the South East Water Operations team. This will include undertaking formal training to a Level 3 Diploma Apprenticeship.
Work within specific Operations teams to gain experience of Leakage Detection.
Carry out various ad hoc projects for the Operations Team relevant to an apprentice role.

Expected requirements:
A full clean driving licence is required along with residing within a one hour drive of Tonbridge, Kent.
Have a minimum of five GSCE's with grade C or above in Maths, English and Science, with appropriate qualifications at a higher level an advantage. Evidence will be requested.
Be available to undertake occasional additional working where this is relevant to the apprenticeship.
This role is field based so would suit someone who enjoys both lone working and working as part of a team.

Whilst we cannot guarantee roles at the end of the two year programme, we anticipate vacancies to arise and for you to be in a good position to move into a Trainee Technician role.

This post is subject to a basic criminal record check and Right to Work in the UK.

In return, we offer a competitive salary, a minimum of 25 days annual leave, a stakeholder pension scheme and life assurance scheme.

Please note, we reserve the right to close or extend this position depending on application numbers. Therefore we would urge candidates to submit an application as early as possible.
