Location: Mariner House, Dartford

Who are we looking for?

Working in a busy infrastructure operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining Moat’s SAN and virtualisation estate, including BC/DR capabilities and testing. Current thin client technology is being replaced with PCs, using evolving deployment and management technologies alongside O365 to deliver collaboration and help meet Moat’s digital transformation strategy, your experience and skills in the area will be key to successful delivery.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience in IT, with 3 of those in a 3rd line or equivalent role. You will be able to demonstrate solid knowledge across networking principles and Microsoft server and client products, with a good awareness of modern security technologies. Specialisms in virtualisation with VMware and Citrix, SAN management (3PAR), HPE rack mount and blade infrastructure, Exchange 2016 and Office365 are all highly desirable.

You will have experience with IT project management and be used to following ITIL processes, with strong verbal and written communication (both technical and non-technical).

As you will be out and about, we will require you to have a Full UK Driving Licence and your own vehicle.

What does a 3rd Line Systems Engineer do?

You will provide 3rd line technical support on operating systems, software, hardware and communications issues to users – liaising with colleagues to ensure high levels of support.

You will need to be innovative to identify new, or existing, technologies that could enhance the service or system provision to our IT customers. A proactive approach is essential to ensure our systems remain as robust as possible, in a highly available environment.

You would be joining a team driving new ways of working and would be part of delivering improvements across a number of projects.
