About Us
Canterbury Oast Trust provides quality development opportunities and accredited training courses for adults with learning disabilities in a variety of vocational subjects and settings across Kent and East Sussex where people can develop their skills in a supportive real life setting.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated COOK to join our team at the Coterie Tea Rooms. This is part time post based upon 69.3 hours per month, equivalent to 16 hours per week, but allows the contractual flexibility for these hours to be worked on a monthly basis which includes working alternate weekends.
This post is fixed term until 31st March 2020.
The Role
As a COOK, REPORTING TO THE LIFE SKILLS MANAGER, you will deliver high quality food in a timely manner, in a fast paced environment, for the Coterie Tea Rooms, within budget and within agreed operational procedures. You will also support our Service Users with practical sessions as agreed with the Life Skills Manager/Assistant Manager and Life Skills Tutor.
About You
As our Cook you will need:
o An appreciation of the needs of people with learning disabilities and therefore be considerate, patient, self-motivated, enthusiastic and professional.
o At least one years\' commercial catering experience as a Cook.
o Formal catering qualification
o Certificate in Food Hygiene at level 2 or above
o Ability to produce a wide range of freshly prepared food to order.
o Up to date knowledge of catering standards.
o Comprehensive knowledge of food hygiene, including HACCP and food preparation.
o To be organised with the ability to prioritise and manage your own time.
