Director of Human Resources

Up to £110000 per annum + additional benefits

Southwark, Greater London

Clarion Housing Group Ltd

Clarion Housing Group is the country's largest housing association with 125,000 homes nationwide. First and foremost, at our heart, we're a social landlord - we mix public and private money to provide affordable homes, overwhelmingly for people who can't meet their housing needs on the open market.

We're also a property development company, a charitable foundation and a repairs and maintenance service, with an ambitious target to build 50,000 new homes over 10 years. We want to be an employer of choice too and believe that the key to our success is our people.

Following the recent appointment of the Group Director of Corporate Services, we're looking for an inspirational Director to lead our Human Resources team. Drawing on your significant experience in leading HR in a large diverse organisation, as Director of Human Resources you'll be responsible for all aspects of HR, leading a team of around 50 who are based in London, Norwich and the South East.

Recognising that our success is driven by the talents and commitment of our 4,000 staff, you'll take the lead in implementing and maintaining the Group's People Strategy, ensuring our policies reflect best practice, and for championing Clarion's People values across the business. Growing a strong leadership team is critical for the Group's future, so you'll be instrumental in designing robust succession planning strategies.

You'll be responsible for staff consultation and negotiation arrangements, including the effective running of our innovative Staff Council and the management of the relationship with Unison, our recognised trade union. We're in the final stages of implementing the Workday HR and Payroll system, and we'll want you to ensure it remains fit for purpose, delivering efficiency and quality in a constantly changing business environment.

We'll look to you to develop a Reward and Remuneration process which ensures Clarion is able to compete effectively and also to lead on initiatives to attract, retain and develop top talent. As an organisation, Clarion is committed to the wellbeing of our staff, and the development of our employee engagement and wellness programmes will feature highly on your radar.

This is a superb opportunity to lead the HR team of an ambitious and rapidly evolving organisation. As a member of the CIPD who is qualified to degree level, you'll already have extensive experience at a senior manager level dealing with organisational design and change management.

We're seeking a leader with a strong working knowledge of employment law and the ability to prioritise and identify risks to an organisation. If you can demonstrate well developed emotional intelligence, are capable of building relationships at all levels and understand the need to use innovation to improve quality and drive efficiencies, we very much look forward to hearing from you.

Closing Date: Midday on 25th March 2019
