An exciting opportunity has arisen within our growing Legal department. The role is varied and we aim to provide an end to end service to all departments within the company for example starting at the tender process of sourcing a contractor, to drafting/ reviewing / negotiating the contracts and then advising on performance or other issues during the life of the contract. We are looking for an approachable and driven individual to help our team grow.



We are keen to consider applications from both candidates looking for full time (37 hours) and part time hours (min of 30 hours).



Based at our Snodland head office in Kent and reporting to the Head of Legal and Data Protection Officer this role will provide legal support to internal client's on a wide range of subjects and transactions in response to business requirements.



Expected requirements



The post holder is required to be a solicitor qualified in England and Wales with at least 4 years post qualification experience. They should be self-motivated, committed and organised.

A sound understanding and experience in at least 1 of the following areas of law will be required for the post: IT contracts, Procurement Law for Utilities, Data Protection, Environmental law, Construction Law (in particular NEC3 and NEC4 contracts) would be an advantage.

Main responsibilities



* To draft and review, negotiate and advise on all types of commercial contract documents (goods, services, etc) from pre - tender stage to completion and to advise on contractual issues or disputes during the life of the contract, working closely with the Procurement team.

* To provide legal advice on commercial matters, contract interpretation, legislation and compliance promoting awareness of and compliance with the rules and requirements governing the activities of the company and the identification and mitigation of risks.

* To assist with responses to complaints, claims and the management of commercial disputes or litigation instructing and liaising with external lawyers as necessary. Knowledge of issuing claims would be an advantage.

* To produce precedents, and provide guidance documents and updates to various departments and training as required.

* To support the Head of Legal as may be required.



This post is subject to a basic criminal record check and Right to Work in the UK.
