We have an exciting opportunity for a Database & Corporate Systems Administrator to support the procurement, implementation and development of Corporate Systems to promote key business functions such as HR, Finance and Student Management.

As a Database & Corporate System Administrator you will:

• Provide 3rd line support for Corporate Systems
• Apply upgrades and patches to applications and associated infrastructure (MS SQL, desktop client, web technologies etc)
• Develop and maintain integrations with other Corporate Systems, to enhance the student and staff experience using SSIS and T-SQL. Monitor and enhance DB performance
• Design and implement secure infrastructure to support Corporate Systems

To succeed in this role you will:

• Have knowledge or experience supporting Corporate Systems, administering databases and web technologies e.g. MS SQL Server and IIS
• Have knowledge of MS Windows (particularly Windows 7/10 and Server 2008/2012/2016/2019)
• Have good analytical and diagnostic skills
• Have a customer focus and good interpersonal skills

Information Services is comprised of four sections: Customer Support, Library Collections and IT Development together directly support almost all areas of University activity, and the Planning and Administration section supports the work of the department.

A strong emphasis is placed on user support and all provision is targeted as closely as possible to user needs. In line with the University’s strategic direction on information management, further emphasis is now being placed on the importance of increased electronic information provision, with a view to making more effective provision in some areas and developing new provision in others.
