Location: Canterbury (will involve working across the whole of Kent)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

About us: We are passionate about helping vulnerable people to reach their full potential. We strive for a fairer society where vulnerable people find stability, the most excluded are included, and where homelessness and poverty are things of the past.

The role: We use a psychologically and trauma-informed practices to support people who have been homeless. You will develop these practices for Porchlight and the wider Kent Integrated Homeless Support Service (a collection of support organisations for homeless and vulnerable people). You will be working with people who have experienced homelessness, mental health issues, drug and alcohol dependency, offending and complex trauma. The work you do will help them to achieve their full potential. You will also look into other approaches have been used to support homeless people, implementing them throughout Porchlight. Supervising our frontline staff and developing services to improve the health & wellbeing of both Porchlight staff and the people they support will be a big part of this role.

This role requires:

Excellent communication and people skills
Experience of working with adults who have a wide range of support needs (if you don’t have direct experience of this but have skills in a similar field, we would still like to hear from you)
The ability to shape the delivery of a service and the ability to influence stakeholders
A relevant qualification in counselling and psychotherapy is desirable. So is a relevant qualification in clinical supervision (or a willingness to work towards it)* A full driving licence and access to a car (subject to the provisions of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and Equality Act 2010).
