Trainee Careers Adviser

£20-24,000

CXK Limited

Are you passionate about working with people to help turn their lives around? Do you enjoy working with individuals and groups of people? If so, we’d love to hear from you!

CXK is a leading charity that empowers young people and adults to build the skills and confidence they need to move into sustainable education, employment or training. In 2017/18 we made a difference to more than 50,000 people across the south-east by delivering various programmes including the National Careers Service.

Having recently been successful in expanding our delivery area for the National Careers Service, we are looking to grow our team of dynamic careers advisers across Kent and East Sussex.

We are looking for enthusiastic, highly motivated, client-centred individuals to join our new Trainee Careers Adviser Programme. We are looking for people who are confident communicating with others, and who are good at explaining information and identifying customer needs. Experience of dealing with the public would be desirable.

As a Trainee Careers Adviser you will first benefit from a comprehensive 18 month training programme where you will:

• Undertake an initial 6 week intensive training programme to bring you up to speed with our work and the skills required to be a successful careers adviser;
• Receive training in delivery of group work and the delivery of interview skills;
• Benefit from extensive work shadowing and practical experience, working with experienced advisers;
• Be supported to get to know your local area, the needs of our customers and the partners we work with.

Following successful completion of the initial 6 week training programme, you will commence your professional training to become a qualified Careers Adviser.

Our mission at CXK is “inspiring people to thrive” and we want you to, too! Choosing a career at CXK means you will join an organisation that supports your development and provides opportunities to take part in rewarding work that allows you to make the most of your potential.
