About the role: The Leigh UTC are expanding their mentoring team; we are seeking to appoint Learning Mentors who are confident in English and/or Maths to provide support for our Key Stage 4 and 5 pupils on the road to completing their GCSEs and A Levels in 2019. Working with small groups of pupils and also holding 1:1 intervention meetings with students who require the support, our successful candidate(s) will work with the Teachers and Heads of Department to boost the students' predicted grades and build their confidence. Our successful candidate(s) will have achieved A*-B grade in English and/or Maths (or closely linked subjects) and, as a desirable criteria, be educated to A Level/Degree which will enable you to prepare the students for what follows GCSEs if they were to select these as an option.

Starting as soon as our successful candidate is available in the new year, the working basis is flexible and days per week can be agreed in advance with your Line Manager. Working with us: Having opened in September 2014 with state-of-the-art facilities initially for Key Stages 4 and 5, The Leigh UTC provides an exciting, innovative, business-led, problem-solving curriculum, enabling students to achieve relevant work-related qualifications and transferable skills for future training or employment. In September 2017, following the request of the Department for Education due to our continued success, The Leigh UTC marked history by expanding its student intake to incorporate Key Stage 3 – the first UTC in the UK to do this. Furthermore, being the first UTC to have IB World School Status has enabled us to develop strong links in Germany and Qatar. The overarching mission of the Inspiration Academy is to develop curious, academically-skilled young people who aspire to be principled, compassionate learners. Our curriculum strives to create students who are self-motivated, competent, willing to take risks and lifelong learners.
