An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone that likes variety, autonomy and the chance to work in different organisations, to join the HR Shared Service operating across Maidstone and Swale Borough Council’s. As a key member of the team, you will be required to help influence the business through the delivery of a proactive service providing a professional and comprehensive operational HR service to specified departments within the Councils.

You will be expected to build and maintain great relationships with managers and employees across the organisations acting as a key point of contact for managers and staff and delivering positive outcomes in a professional manner.

As a HR Advisor, you will provide generalist HR support to departments including advising and supporting managers on employee relations cases, change management, absence management and learning and development solutions. You will be involved with recruitment and selection processes, policy development and coaching managers on best practices.

You should have a solid understanding of employment legislation and have excellent communication skills and the ability to present clear, well-structured reports and advice.

You will be joining a friendly and busy HR team who are involved in supporting on a wide range of HR and L&D issues. You will be often be required to confidently manage conflicting and competing priorities to meet frequent deadlines. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with HR experience who is CIPD qualified, or working towards their CIPD qualification.

The Council considers this to be a customer focused role, and the ability to converse at ease with customers, adapting communication style to suit differing audiences, and provide advice in accurate spoken English is fundamental to the role.

This is a permanent position working 37 hours per week employed by Maidstone Borough Council.
