The 4 star Ramada Hotel Dover which is part of the Leaf Hotel Group, requires a Banquet & Bar Manager to manage the conferences and banquets in the hotel together with the hotel bar outlets

The areas of responsibility include the Octagon Bar, 2 function rooms for meetings and small functions and the Grand Marquee which can cater for banquets, weddings & special events for up to 400 guests

The hotel has a strong corporate and leisure business trade for the bar and has established itself as an excellent venue for weddings and events.

JOB SUMMARY:

To ensure the beverage outlets and the function rooms including the Grand Marquee run in a smooth and professional manner, utilising computer and communication equipment to its fullest potential; ensuring customer satisfaction at all times; .and to implement the’ Spirit of Ramada International’ by ensuring the 6 Core Pillars are adhered to at all times.

GENERAL DUTIES:

1) To ensure that all Function & Beverage outlets are fully staffed and weekly timesheets reflect business levels.
2) To adapt, understand and implement Ramada International related standards
3) To manage and supervise special events and functions and support the Food & Beverage team in performing according to agreed standards and ensuring customer satisfaction at all times is of the highest level.
4) To ensure regular staff training is taking place, improving skills of function and bar staff and ensuring staff retention through a motivated team.
5) To display a ‘hands on’ approach in the daily running of the Function & Beverage outlets and support the staff in maintaining the highest possible service standards throughout.
6) To be available for Duty Management shifts as requested.
7) To actively promote through sales training, advertising, in house promotions all Function & Beverage promotions and Events
8) To attend bi-weekly HOD Meeting and to produce beverage figures based on EPOS reports.
9) To ensure all Health & Safety obligations are complied with and relevant training takes place on a 6 monthly basis, with Departmental Audits carried out on a monthly basis

We are looking for candidates with previous managerial experience within a quality banquet & beverage operation, and competent in leading teams in a 4 star hotel or similar environment. Previous hotel and event experience is essential & would also be a huge advantage. You must have excellent customer focus and the ability to motivate and manage a team of staff. We are looking for candidates with plenty of personality and a strong work ethic who display a ‘hands on’ approach in the daily running of the Banqueting, Food & Beverage outlets and support the Supervisors in maintaining the highest possible service standards throughout.
