Job Description
Our client is looking to recruit a Sous Chef with experience in a fresh food kitchen. They really look after and care about their staff – with ‘family’ being one of the core values of the company. The client is a very successful run Inn with B & B, wedding venue and restaurant in a beautiful location overlooking the Swale Estuary. The restaurant has won the best dining pub of 2014 & recently award 1 AA rosette. They have extensive kitchen gardens, farm their own beef/lamb/game, and specialise in local produce dishes. There is a thriving function suite on site that will provide you with a varied job role. If you are ready for the next step in your catering career look no further than this very reputable restaurant where full training will be given in management/HR/self-development for candidates stepping up to management level.
Requirements
• Experience in a fresh food kitchen – Preferable
• Reliable and enthusiastic
• Driving licence required due to rural location.
• Be able to provide cover for Head chef when he is away
• Flair for using locally sourced seasonal produce
• Be confident enough to assist with Menu and special boards dishes
• Currently working as sous chef or senior CDP ready to step up.
Duties
• 50hrs per week 28 days holiday a year. 1 week off at Christmas
• Work as part of a team in the restaurant and conference room
• Basic food preparation
• Dealing with fresh ingredients
• Ensure kitchen is clean and tidy
• knowledge of health and safety
