Role Purpose Statement:

To work alongside the Indep Business Managers/ Sales Teams to help drive sales of Brake product by creating innovative and interesting dishes through core component and bespoke development. To meet and exceed the customer requirements & expectations, as well as developing strong business relationships with our customers` food development teams, buyers & menu specifiers to assist with development work.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

- Gain insight into customer proposition, brands and values and ensure that all outputs reflect these
- Responsible for the delivery of customer presentations, ensuring that menu plans and costing are presented for approval
- Provide input into recipe choices and take a lead in preparing the recipes/ menus
- Develop strong internal relationships especially with Sales, Marketing & Category teams
- Deliver industry and sector leading presentations to external stakeholders.
- Identify product trends by sector and help customers understand opportunities for their businesses
- Support the Key Acc Business Managers to identify switch sell opportunities and reduce nominated lines
- Jointly own and manage your personal development plans
- Participate in bespoke product development(where applicable) for key customers ensuring costs and plans are monitored
- Capture recipe & menu ideas and ensure their input onto StarChef
- Work closely with the Sector Dev Chefs to gain knowledge of the food requirements & trends within specific sectors

Performance Indicators

- Increase in Brakes share of wallet & support of new business wins

- Increase in customers food sales

- Completion of IPR Objectives

- Positive feedback from Account Managers & Customers

- Strong planning & organizational skills with excellent time management skills & the ability to manage conflicting priorities

Knowledge, Skills, Experience

Essential:

- City & Guilds 706/1&2
- NVQ 3 in catering
- Food Handlers hygiene certificate
- Experience with recipe/menu writing and costing
- Exceptional presentation skills

Desirable:

- History of working in the Casual dining sector, pub, restaurant or hotel industry as a Chef
- Had experience in a similar role - NPD Chef
- Intermediate Hygiene Certificate
