Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs)
Countywide
Permanent, full time
Variable shifts (7am to 11pm, Mon to Sun)
Salary £19,557 rising to £22,443 after successfully completing a 12 month probationary period.
Kent Police has been recognised nationally for achieving excellent results in the areas of keeping people safe and reducing crime. This has been achieved through outstanding leadership, hard work, high standards of professionalism, putting victims and witnesses first and treating everyone with fairness, respect and dignity.
If you would like to help us build on this success as a highly visible point of contact working in the heart of our diverse communities, helping to prevent crime and antisocial behaviour, then this is the job for you.
About the role
As a PCSO you will play an important role in protecting and serving the people of Kent. As part of the wider policing team you will work closely with regular officers, special constables and council wardens. You will have certain powers, such as issuing penalty notices and you will play a key part in longer term projects to tackle local problems.
Your 37 hour working week will include variable shifts that could span any time between 7am and 11pm, any day of the week. You will be fully supported in your training and development during your first year to enable you to complete a learning portfolio.

About you
You will have the ability to make clear decisions and work effectively with others to develop innovative approaches to solving local problems. Acting with honesty and integrity and presenting a professional image to others, you will also demonstrate good interpersonal skills and deliver an excellent service to the public.
You must hold a full UK driving licence when you apply and you’ll need to be 18 years or older when you join.
