Aeromet International Ltd is a major supplier of investment and sand castings to the aerospace and defence industries. With over 40 years’ experience we are continuously developing techniques and processes that enable us to form unique and lasting partnerships with the biggest names in the industry.
The Sittingbourne site specialises in casting aluminium and magnesium components primarily for the commercial aviation sector which include heat exchangers, fuel pumps and various other aerospace structural castings. The Rochester site specialises in the manufacture of pressure tight jet fuel connectors to the commercial aviation sector.
We are currently seeking to recruit an Estimating Engineer to work at the Sittingbourne site and attend the Rochester site when necessary.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Estimating Engineer will be responsible for producing estimates for new / existing parts to be manufactured by Aeromet's two Kent sites and will liaise with internal personnel and customers.
The role will involve identifying and quantifying costs associated with customer’s requirements and the re-costing of existing parts. The post holder will be required to point of contact for suppliers, customers and subcontractors; providing information in relation to enquires and orders, resolving queries via email and telephone and attending meetings with customers and suppliers.
To be considered for the role you must have a good engineering background, preferably within the foundry / tool making industry, be able to able to demonstrate the ability to interpret 2D drawings, a comprehension of tolerances and understand technical documentation and specification.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to work calmly and effectively under pressure, have great problem solving and decision making ability, with a practical, hands on and solution focused approach. You must be self-motivated; productively and proactively working to deadlines and be conversant with Microsoft Office (Word / Excel / PowerPoint).
Please note that this role will involve travel between sites, according to business needs. Therefore a full driving licence and own car are essential.
