Full Time (48 hours/week)

Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair a variety of power tools, whilst ensuring an excellent level of customer satisfaction is provided at all times.
Liaison with customers both face to face and via email/phone advising on faults found and repair status.
Apply and control the flow of repairs through all stages including the fair application of the relevant manufacturer’s warranty criteria.
Identify and discard uneconomical repairs at point of inspection.
Ensure the safety of self, colleagues and customers, by maintaining an up to date knowledge of Tool Hire H&S procedures and ensuring any maintenance meets the necessary standards and H&S certification is maintained
Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised workplace.

Maintenance of the in-house computer systems to ensure each individual repair is logged and progress updated, where relevant in accordance with manufacturers’ procedures.
Reporting back to manufacturers where required by their approved service centre standards.
Liaising with the Hire Manager over the stock levels of spare parts, alerting when stocks are low and generally helping to monitor spares.
Making sure spare parts are kept in the correct bin locations, allocated to jobs as required and the correct records are kept.
Delivery driving may also be necessary as and when required.

The Individual
Capability, Knowledge and Experience
• Previous experience in diagnosing and repairing a variety of tools and machines is essential.
• Relevant product knowledge, preferably within a hire business is a strong advantage.
• Vehicle maintenance/mechanics experience would be desirable.
• Well-developed keyboard and PC skills.
• Awareness and understanding of the importance of health and safety issues.
• Full clean driving licence.
Education and Qualifications
• None specified.
Personal Characteristics
• Strong customer service ethos.
• The ability to work on your own initiative with a high level of common sense.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and able to work to deadlines accurately with minimal supervision
• Enthusiastic team player who exhibits a strong desire to learn new technology

These duties are not exhaustive. Additional hours of work may be required, as determined by the needs of the business. Additional duties, responsibilities and projects may also be required

This position will be full-time (48 hours/week) and based in Folkestone, Kent.
