Salary: £18,000 36hours per week (worked on a shift pattern covering 7.30am to 7.00pm Monday to Friday and occasional weekend cover for holiday and sickness)

Arethusa Venture Centre provides adventurous experiences for young people in the Kent and London areas including schools, youth groups and young people from vulnerable/challenging backgrounds as well as those with disabilities.

You will manage a staff team to deliver a high standard of service, serving up to 120 meals per service, 3 meals a day. The meals will need to appeal to our client group providing them with variety and nutrition, with special attention to dietary needs. Experience of Hazard Analysis is essential. You will be responsible for Health and Safety in the kitchen and dining area, menu planning ordering through our procurement system and managing your staff team, this would include rotas planning, holiday cover and their supervision and development.

You will need to hold a foundation level in food hygiene or be able to achieve this within the first few months of employment. An NVQ level 2/3 in Food preparation and cooking (or equivalent), Food Allergy awareness certificate, a first aid certificate, and a valid clean driving licence is desirable.

The successful applicant will have a minimum of 2 years demonstrative experience in managing a kitchen and a team of staff.
