Our client, a well-established international business operating in the distribution sector, offering niche services and products, predominantly to the UK and Europe, are looking to bring in a Financial Controller to support the business growth following a recent sale. There are firm expansion plans in place for the business and there is a realistic opportunity to increase their market share substantially.

Reporting into the CFO, the Financial Controller will work with the business to transform the finance function to fit the new needs of the size of the business and its growth plans. The role will take responsibility across the finance, operations and commercial areas of the business and will be very much achievement driven, with significant projects to undertake.

- Running the day to day finance function and key involvement in the commercial and operations part of the business.
- Leading an ERP systems implementation
- Building and developing a finance team
- Budgeting, forecasting and working with the CFO to development strategic plans for the business
- Implementation and control of cash forecasting and management, including foreign currency and hedging
- Setting up management reporting from scratch, automating existing processes
- Setting up processes and controls across the business
- Development of the FP&A piece, including KPI`s and dashboards to ensure the business has adequate information to make key commercial decisions
- Developing cost centre reporting and working with centre managers to develop their use of budgets and key data
- Financial modelling and costing of contracts
- Challenging the business and ensuring there is continuous improvement and developments being made
- Ad hoc projects

Candidates will be formally qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and have experience operating at a senior level ideally within an SME environment. It is essential that the individual is comfortable in a hands on` role and is happy to get their sleeves rolled up and come in and drive change and process improvement from day one. Previous experience of change management is also essential and working within a business that has gone through rapid expansion and with an international presence would be advantageous. Candidates with an audit background from practice will also be considered.
