Front of House Manager
(Competitive salary)
Port Lympne Mansion and Gardens are a truly unique wedding, conference and party venue nestled in the heart of a world famous wild animal park. The Mansion house, located in the unique and beautiful setting of Port Lympne Reserve was converted to a four star Mansion Hotel in June last year and currently has six exquisite rooms with plans for further expansion.
The Role:
Reporting directly to the deputy general manager, this is a hands-on, customer facing, front of house role requiring the job holder to run the hotel and restaurant. You will liaise with the head chef and direct and support staff to deliver an exceptional service to our restaurant, bar and hotel. You will take full responsibility for ensuring our team of staff deliver a service that will surpass our guest’s expectations making sure that everything runs smoothly and no detail is overlooked.
Duties of the role will include, but are not limited to, ensuring correct staffing levels for all hotel and restaurant services. Provide staff with support and training. Ensure that high standards are maintained in cleanliness, hygiene, presentation and appearance of the mansion rooms and grounds. Manage and maintain all the equipment. Manage the till systems and conduct till reconciliation. Bar and cellar management for both hotel and events. Stock management including deliveries, rotation, waste control and audits. Control costs and optimise profits to meet and exceed GP margins.
The Person:
We are looking for an experienced front of house manager with significant prior experience gained in a similar high end service environment. You will have the ability to prioritise, make appropriate decisions under pressure and be able to juggle various tasks at once to ensure everything runs smoothly.
You will have good problem solving abilities and a proven track record of controlling costs and optimising profits whist maintaining exceptional standards of service and presentation. Strong team leadership skills, excellent communication skills and an understanding that the needs of the guest come first at all times are essential for this role.
Working hours will be mostly evenings, some days and will include weekends and bank holidays normally worked in shifts over five days a week. Due to the location of the venue you will need your own transport.
