Main purpose of job:

To manage the movements of clinical waste deliveries in or out of the facility, in full correspondence to environmental, DVSA regulations and site license requirements.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• To manage the necessary documentation required by environmental regulations in order to collect, transfer and dispose of clinical and hazardous wastes.
• To have a good knowledge of specific clinical waste documents which are the basis of managing the movements of clinical and hazardous wastes?
• To work well as part of a team.
• To perform daily tasks in order to maintain a high level of quality in the workplace.
• Make sure loads are safely secured.
• To complete delivery paperwork and log sheets.
• To manage the use of the PDA handheld device.

Other Essential Skills:

• Competency in English and Maths.
• Qualified to drive heavy good vehicles (C, CE).
• ADR trained carriage of dangerous goods (6.2 minimum).
• Hold a current UK drivers licence. (Maximum 6 points)
• Have good eyesight and colour vision and reasonable level of fitness to work with loads.
• The ability to work alone and concentrate for long periods.
• A Good understanding of health and safety, when loading and unloading vehicles.

Desirable Skills:

• Communication skills
• Customers relations
• Computer literate with basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word

Knowledge:

• Good knowledge of transport operations.
• Knowledge of NHS contracts (desirable).
• Good knowledge of clinical and hazardous waste.
