The Wine Ambassador will be responsible for the growth and development of current wine business. This will include increasing the wine sales of current customers and prospecting, alongside sales representatives for new wine business. This role will require close working with the Sales Director to ensure they are kept up to date of any developments.
Main responsibilities of the role:
· Liaison with the Sales Director on a continuous basis
· Support the Sales Director in the promotion of business mission.
· Ensure the continuing development and increase of wine business within the company
· Maintain and build account base
· Be a source of expertise to be utilised by the company
· Contribute expertise and vision to Wine meetings
· Preparation and adherence to effective journey planning
· Provide both the Telesales Team, and the Sales Representatives, with expert product knowledge as and when required
· Ensure that deadlines and objectives, set by the Sales Director, are met
· Liaising with Stock Control on wine shortages and suggest appropriate, and cost effective alternatives to the Telesales and Sales Team.
· Effective use of wine sampling to ensure more business is secured
· A strong and continuous focus on business development
· Building and maintaining excellent customer relationships
· Detailed monitoring of revenue verses consumption and product spend levels to the advantage of the business
· Forward planning for business needs

Person specification:
· Excellent computer skills, including all programmes within the Microsoft package, preferably advanced Excel
· Proven experience of working within the wine and alcohol industry
· Proven experience of working within a sales environment
· Proven experience of developing and increasing business
· A detailed understanding of the aims and objectives of Hills Prospect
· An excellent working knowledge of wines and a detailed understanding of customer need and expectation
· Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Excellent attention to detail
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to plan workloads in order to ensure both internal and external demands are met
· The ability to be both proactive and reactive when responding to matters arising at work
· Excellent interpersonal communication skills
· A thorough understanding of the need to maintain confidentiality
· Ability to plan workload in order to meet internal and external demands
