Are you a successful manager with expertise and experience in student support and wellbeing services? Do you share our commitment to providing an environment in which students can achieve their academic potential and enjoy university life to the full?
The University of Kent is one of the country’s leading academic institutions producing world-class research, rated internationally excellent and leading the way in many fields of study. It has been shortlisted for University of the Year by both the THE Awards 2015 and the Times/Sunday Times Good University Guide 2016. A major employer with over 3,000 members of staff, Kent’s reputation as being a good place to work is reflected in its top ranking in the THE Best University Workplace Survey for the second year running.
We are now seeking a new Head of Student Support and Wellbeing to build upon our success in providing accessible and student-focussed support services, enabling our students to develop self-reliance and transferable/life skills. You will work in partnership with academic schools and professional service departments to ensure equality of opportunity for disabled students, promoting a welcoming and integrated service to give students the best chance of academic success.
Responsible for the management of a number of functional areas, you will also contribute to strategic direction and development as a key member of the Student Services senior management team.
If you have a proven track record of managing a team in this area, a thorough knowledge of the relevant legislation and issues, and excellent communication, negotiation and networking skills, this is a rare and exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the student experience at Kent.
