The Kent Autistic Trust is a very well respected specialist provider of services for adults with autism. It is an innovative charity providing day and living support services and family support. The Trust encourages maximum independence, choice and use of community resources, within a supportive environment. The Trust supports over 85 people across 15 sites across Kent.

We are currently recruiting for:

Role: Lead – HR Manager – Responsible for Leading & Developing the HR Function

Grade: Senior/Strategic

Reporting To: Chief Executive Officer

Location: Kent (Gillingham Head Office & Ashford)

Salary range: £36,000 to £38,000 p.a. Pro Rata + Benefits

Hours: 25 hours per week (5 hours per day, Monday to Friday)

Purpose & Objectives of the Role:

• To lead and drive the HR function at the Trust across two sites (Head Office and Ashford)
• Taking ownership of the strategic direction and development of the HR function across all sites.
• To strive to achieve excellence and work towards becoming the preferred employer in care in Medway and Kent.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop, lead and motivate the HR team to ensure credibility and trust
• Shaping and driving the HR agenda to ensure maximum performance through people
• Providing high level coaching and consultative advice to senior members of the trust
• Creating commercial value for the Trust through effective people plans and strategies.
• Undertake regular industry analysis, HR Reporting and bench marking.
• Employee engagement, talent management and succession planning
• Delivery of strategic HR projects and organisational change initiatives
• Leading on key HR projects as a subject matter expert.
• To develop action plans in response to new and ongoing Legislation that will impact the work force of KAT.
• To research and bench mark the KPI in respect of HR and develop improvement plans in response to the concluded data.


Experience Required:

• Chartered membership of the CIPD
• Proven experience of HR partnering and coaching skills
• Experience of managing HR team members
• Evidence of working at an influential senior level within the HR function
• End to end project experience
• Demonstrable experience of building relationships
• Thorough understanding of working within a charitable/not for profit structure
• Flexibility and adaptability
• Ability to persuade and negotiate
• Experience in a social care environment would be advantageous
