Job Title: Stores Person
Responsible to: Compliance Director
Purpose: Responsible for efficient and effective management of the
Goods In, Stores area, Vehicles and Plant
Duration: Permanent
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 6:45am to 5:15pm
The successful applicant is required to have extensive experience in managing a busy stores department, preferably within an electrical company. Managing the effective receipt of materials delivered. Responsible for company vehicles/plant/vehicle management/plant calibration/site deliveries and PPE/workwear.

Duties to include, but not limited to;
• Fire Marshall, training provided
• Effective Day to day management of stores, dealing with deliveries and returns
• Ensure stock held in stores is reported to Helpdesk to reduce stock level and avoid ordering new stock.
• Drive reduced costs of all purchases and report back to Accounts manager fortnightly on results achieved.
• Informing operatives of goods in
• Collection/ delivery of goods to site/ wholesalers
• Sweeping and keeping yard tidy
• Plant Management, Maintenance and Inspections
• Plant Asset Register Management
• Hire plant management, including negotiating reduced hire charges and minimising delivery charges, ensuring prompt off hire & including weekly review with Operations Director
• PPE purchase, issue, procurement and control
• Dealing with lamp recycling
• Daily rubbish collection from offices
• Weekly fire alarm testing
• Vehicle Fleet Maintenance & periodic inspections & Cleaning/unloading of vans & servicing management and warranty works.
• Sign Writing & Tracker Management for all new vehicles.
• Daily review of trackers to ensure working correctly and dealing with any repairs with engineer responsible for Trackers.
• Update of CC London List (Monthly)
• Management of Waste & Lamp recycling
• 6 monthly emergency lighting tests.
• Management of equipment calibration
• Office and Site Electrical Equipment Portable Appliance Testing Control of van checks
• Ensure Vans are returned to yard when engineers are on annual leave
• Ordering and control of office consumables (Cleaning Equipment & Sundry items)
Other aspects of this position include
• Cleaning office windows
• Reading utility meters (gas, electric)
• Hands on management of Crayside Estate – Gritting/Weeding/general maintenance & upkeep/monthly safety checks/re-lamping/car park control & CCTV.
Essential Skills for this post are
• Excellent organisational and communication
• Suitable level of fitness
• Intermediate computer experience, must be adept in using MS Office
• Reliable, tolerant and determined
• Multi-tasker
• Team player
• A sense of humour and the patience to deal with repetitive tasks
• Full Clean Driving Licence
Preferred skills for this post are
• Previous Store Keeper experience
• Flexible working attitude
• Previous procurement experience
• General handyman skills
• PAT Testing qualifications, training will be provided if necessary
