An exciting new partnership opportunity between Tenterden and New Romney Day Centres has arisen to develop a new catering service within a brand new scheme for older independent adults. We are looking for a catering team with enthusiasm and drive to set up a 365 day service providing a varied menu to residents and visitors.
The service will run between the hours of 8:30am and 6:00pm and the Catering Manager/Chef will be required to work 30 hours from 8:00am – 2:00pm Monday to Friday. This role plays a pivotal part in the success of this new venture and is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wishes to take ownership of the development process.
The Catering Manager/Chef will be responsible for all aspects of the setting up and running of the service including:
- Spearheading the catering service and liaising regularly with client representatives to ensure that the offering meets the requirements and expectations of the client group
- Delivering high standards with a consistency of service at all times
- Ensuring that the service meets all regulatory requirements and comply with Food Hygiene and Health & Safety regulations
- Developing and producing a range of high quality seasonally inspired menus and ensuring that the dietary requirements of the clients are supported
- Maximising income, setting and working within budgets
- Managing the team of chefs and catering assistants effectively
- Maintaining a welcoming, client focused service
Successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check. The post is offered initially on a 12 month fixed term contract, with the possibility of further extension.
