A Progressive and expanding manufacturing company in East Kent is looking for software engineer to join an enthusiastic, passionate and forward thinking and professional team. The role is site based and involves software development and testing.

Skills and Experience:
This role is ideally suited to an organised and creative individual with a systematic and practical approach.
• Ability to think conceptually and translate design requirements into viable technical solutions under minimal supervision
• Practical, hands-on experience helping design/develop electro-mechanical products
• A high-level understanding of electronics (e.g. digital circuitry to level of schematic review)
• Full software lifecycle experience (documentation, design, development, testing and maintenance)
• Ability to self-manage a project to agreed timescales
• Experience developing with: C, C++, C# .NET and Windows Visual Basic
• Experience in developing low level embedded code for the PIC range of microprocessors
• A strong knowledge and understanding of mathematics, physics and chemistry
• Experience working with and developing/debugging for a range of embedded microcontrollers
• Structured design methodology
• Experience working within small teams
• Experience in writing code for Bluetooth applications advantageous
• Experience of iPhone and Android software development advantageous

• Aptitude for continuous improvement
• Keen eye for detail
• A team player with aptitude to take the lead role in projects
• Results orientated, awareness of the importance of budgets and deadlines, ability to manage work within these constraints

Duties and Responsibilities:
• To work on software aspects of product design as part of the integrated engineering team.
• To produce design-related documentation. This may include, but is not limited to, specifications, manuals, illustrations, costings and test procedures. Also to check and approve all documentation as required
• To maintain clear records of all design work.


Other Requirements:
• To operate in line with the Company's ISO 9001 & 14001 system
• To follow all Health and Safety requirements as laid down by Company regulation
• To carry out any other related tasks as may be requested from time to time by a Business Director
