We have a really exciting career opportunity for someone wanting to work in wedding and events at a idyllic family-owned wedding venue.
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and well presented people-person to join our lovely team as a venue manager, at a rural wedding venue on a farm in east Kent, from October 2015 onwards.
Have a look at our website: http://prestoncourt.co.uk/
This is an event management role and NOT a wedding planning role.
This person not only needs to able to manage and run weddings but be hands on with a range of duties: Role would suit someone who is creative, enjoys working with people, who is flexible and loves the countryside, as we are based on a large farm. This is a lovely positive role with loads of jobs satisfaction.
Role will include:- VENUE MANAGEMENT:
Doing viewings with new couples and holding regular meetings. Dealing with sub contractors, as well as setting up and running full-scale weddings, ordering supplies and more. Running a busy bar, directing & organising staff, emailing, invoicing etc, basic book keeping, booking ceremonies and doing some office based tasks, particularly in winter time.
It is predominantly a practical role so you need to be able to think on your feet, and remain calm and cheerful! The role is very rewarding and there is a lot of opportunity for the right person. You need to be an excellent people person and love working in events. Hours can be long and can be demanding at times, but its a very fun and vibrant place to work.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone wanting to escape London or city life, for a dream job – we can help find local accommodation if required. Personal Alcohol licence would be good but not essential.

- During wedding season - Mid March through to mid/ end October: 35 - 45 hours (sometimes more at peak times). Mainly at weekends.
- During close season: End October through to beginning of March: 30 - 40 hours per week, mainly week days
