We are currently looking to recruit an Interim HR Manager, reporting to, and working closely with CEO/Deputy CEO. You will be expected to take a leading role in the day to day management of a small HR team based in Paddock Wood, Kent.
The values of client care and service excellence are a top priority for the organisation however, HR has an important role to play in supporting the organisation to achieve its goals and objectives.
This is a “hands on” role that offers the opportunity to become involved in managing day to day HR activities as well as wider organisational initiatives that need HR support and direction.
Key Responsibilities include:
To be an ambassador for HR and the Charity helping to deliver the business goals and core values
Manage a team of 2 HR Assistants and 1 Payroll Officer
Deliver operational HR support including best practice HR advice, problem resolution and change management and strongly influence work teams in good HR practice.
Work closely with the Training Co-ordinator to ensure an integrated approach to HR & Training solutions
Build strong relationships with managers and staff, offering advice, coaching and support on all aspects of people management
Manage talent and succession planning taking responsibility for recruitment activity and campaigns
Support the Volunteer and apprenticeship programmes
Provide reports and management information that accurately reflect HR activities within the organisation such as absence, LTO, recruitment, employee engagement
Recommend opportunities for change to increase efficiency/improve engagement
Support the development and application of all HR policies and procedures, including those relating to disciplinary, grievance, absence and maternity ensuring in line with current legislation and informing line managers of changes
Ensure compliance with all ‘people related’ statutory and company procedures (e.g. Disclosure and Barring Checks, Eligibility to work)
Support employee relations cases (potential dismissals, appeals, employment tribunals etc)
When appropriate support the efficient delivery of change management programmes (TUPE, redundancy, reorganisations, mobilisations, transitions etc)
The ideal candidate will need to possess the following:
A professional and commercial approach to HR
Experienced generalist with knowledge of recruitment, employee relations, absence management and succession planning
Confident to challenge and influence senior managers
Ability to deal with minor conflict and sensitive situations
Good understanding of employment law
Ability to communicate well at all levels
Ability to develop and interpret reports and management information
This is a fixed term contract until 31 March 2017
