A vacancy has arisen to provide administrative support to P & B Metal Components Limited’s Purchasing Department at its Whitstable site.
P & B is a well-established, fast-moving, high-volume business established on providing its customers with high-quality solutions in the shortest possible lead-times.
Primarily this is an administrative role, however depending on the individual, there is scope for development into Indirect and Direct buying responsibilities.
The main duties will involve: -
• Purchase Order Administration in line with P & B’s Buyer / Supplier agreements.
• Purchase Order rescheduling and order reconciliation with suppliers.
• Ensuring all Purchase Orders are formally acknowledged in line with P & B’s requirements.
• Expediting timely deliveries of direct and indirect materials and services.
• Resolving supplier shipment discrepancies.
• Maintaining and reporting Supplier Performance data.
• Supporting P & B’s customer enquiry process by obtaining supplier quotations as and when required.
• Assist and support other members of the Purchasing Team as and when required.
The successful candidate for this role will also possess the following skill and attributes: -
• Well-organised and able to prioritise work to meet deadlines.
• An excellent an accurate communicator, both externally and internally - to ensure complete, and concise information flow from supply base into P & B.
• Able to maintain a professional and appropriate relationship with the supply base at all times.
• An ability to deal fairly but firmly with suppliers to consistently ensure that P & B’s bought-out requirements are met at all times and on time.
• A good “Team Player” able to liaise with all other departments to resolve technical and non-technical queries.
